Mission
The program's goal is to enhance the employability of the job
seeker by helping the participant reduce stress and address barriers
to employment.
Program
Structure
Drop-in stress and crisis counseling services are provided on-site
at the Oakland Private Industry Council Career Center, 1212 Broadway,
Suite 100, Oakland, CA 94612. Counseling is available five days
per week from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. CSS also provides post-termination
support by transitioning clients into other CSS counseling services
or by referring to additional community resources as appropriate.
CSS
also provides "rapid response" crisis counseling when there are
major layoffs in the City of Oakland. The goal of this program
is to quickly link individuals to supportive services to reduce
the stress that results from job loss and expedite the process
of finding new employment.
Who
We Serve
Services are provided free of charge to any one looking for work
who is also registered with the Private Industry Council (PIC)
Career Center.
