November is Indigenous Peoples Month! By respecting and uplifting Native ways of knowing, we can create more effective, trusting, and sustainable suicide prevention initiatives that truly support Native individuals and communities.
At our recent 988 Conference, we were honored to host a session on culturally responsive crisis support, along with our friends from @ca988tribaltaskforce, @sihc_org, @7gen1d, @didi_hirsch, @wellspace_health, and Riverside-San Bernadino Indian Health, Inc. We invite you to learn alongside us.

We`re excited to announce Cookies for Crisis Support on Friday, October 17th, from 6:00-9:00 PM at Golfland Castro Valley! It`s a new name for our annual mini-golf event (formerly Fairway to Wellness) but the same tee-rific fun!
We`re adding a bake sale element to offer as many free tickets to youth as possible. This event raises vital funds for Teens for Life, a program that provides essential suicide prevention education to over 12,000 youth in Alameda County schools each year. We need your support to keep this safety net strong!

Grief Group: General Loss
Tuesdays, September 23rd - November 11th, 6-8pm
This group utilizes narrative therapy: which means we`re telling stories about who your loved one was, who you were, who you are now, and what your relationship with them is now. Because we believe that even after they`re no longer living, you still continue your relationship with them.
Grief Group: Suicide Loss
Wednesdays, September 24th - November 12th, 6-8pm
This group is a rare space where we get to talk about suicide and loss without the usual stigma. It’s an opportunity to connect with others and share your grief in a way that can be seen and honored.
Accessibility: grief groups are held in our office in the Lorin District between Oakland and Berkeley. Wheelchair accessible. Well-lit parking available on site. Or via bus lines 12,7,F.
