Community education is empowerment.

We believe that our community is a natural safety net. Our mission is to enhance our community’s knowledge and awareness to support fellow members who may be experiencing thoughts of suicide.

We provide a space for challenging conversations, foster hope, and instill confidence that we can all make a difference.

Our Training Philosophy

We value the power of connection and believe in equity in suicide prevention. We recognize that environmental and systemic factors impact mental health and can increase suicide risk.

Our community trainings are routinely tailored to meet the specific needs of your audience and the communities you engage with.

We provide community workshops on:

  • Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training that teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge. This 7-8 hour training is provided to cohorts of 15-30 participants. Participants who complete the training earn a 3-year certification.

    • Adult MHFA: Teaches you how to support adults ages 18 and over. Available in English and Spanish.

    • Youth MHFA: Teaches adults (parents, caregivers, school staff, etc.) how to support youth. Available in English.

  • This workshop enhances a person’s ability to identify someone in crisis, understand the warning signs, and connect them with supportive care.

  • Our Teens for Life Program aims to provide a "full circle of care" for students who may be at risk for suicide. We offer workshops for every part of the school community, available in English and Spanish.

    • For Middle & High School Youth: Our classroom-based workshops enhance a young person’s ability to identify a peer in crisis and encourage them to find help for a friend.

    • For School Staff: We provide training on early identification, referral, and youth suicide assessment for teachers and school mental health counselors.

For Parents, Guardians, & Caregivers: This workshop helps caregivers recognize suicide warning signs, engage with their child, and learn about home safety and connecting their child to support.

  • Zero Suicide Initiative

Zero Suicide is a framework based on the belief that suicide is preventable in healthcare and behavioral health care settings. As part of this initiative, we offer free trainings to primary care providers and their staff. Since 45% of individuals who died by suicide saw their primary care provider in the month prior, this training is crucial for equipping all members of a healthcare staff with the tools to identify and help.

  • This training is designed specifically for clinicians and mental health professionals to sharpen their skills in suicide-specific assessment and intervention strategies.
