Parents have always had many roles in their children’s’ lives. But now more than ever, parents are feeling the pressure as they take on educating their children and helping them cope with the realities of physical distancing. This panel will explore common questions that come up for parents as they work to be an active part of their child’s mental health well-being. How do I know when to ask for professional help? What are some warning signs that a young person might be experiencing a mental health challenge? What are some common barriers that might keep someone from speaking up? How do we start the conversation in our homes? What does suicide prevention look like when we are talking about our kids? Where can I get support for myself?
The panel will be moderated by CSS Executive Director Narges Zohoury Dillon, LMFT. With Morgan Byler, LCSW, Mental Health Specialist, School Based Services; Renee DValery, LMFT, Family Paths Parenting Stress Helpline; Steve Nimmo, Z-Cares Co-Founder
