Description:
This panel presentation will lean into the experiences of adults, providers and helpers of all kinds who are supporting youth facing suicide. We will explore barriers to services including the helper`s anxiety of holding risk, youth`s willingness to participate, engaging and supporting youth`s natural support systems while holding privacy and sensitivity to youths` agency.

Attendees will explore the historical context of mental health stigma in the Black community, its impact across generations, and the resilience that has sustained the community through adversity. Participants will learn about strategies to identify solutions to promote mental wellness and support those in need.

Are you grieving? If you are grieving a loss due to the death of someone important, support can be a lifeline. CSS is currently accepting new clients for therapy to individuals, couples or families to address grief, including for losses due to suicide, homicide, or sudden death. Fees are on a sliding scale, with no one turned away for lack of funds. Call 1800-260-0094 for more information.
