Thank you to everyone who showed up! Prevention services are not separate from our broader goal to reduce homelessness in our community.

As a result of overwhelming public engagement, there will be $34 million more allocated per year to essential services, including behavioral health.

While the specific programs to receive funding are still to be determined, we are locked in to keep our programs and our people well supported.

📢Action Alert: Protect Vital Mental Health & Education Programs! 📢

Your voice is urgently needed to protect essential mental health and community education programs right here in Alameda County!
New state funding changes (Prop 1) threaten to cut vital Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) services that Crisis Support Services (CSS) relies on. These are the programs that proactively build community resilience and provide compassionate support before crises escalate.

But there`s good news! We have a chance to advocate for these programs. On Tuesday, July 22nd, the Board of Supervisors will hold a hearing on Measure W funds, which are now available. CSS will be there, asking them to allocate these funds to offset the Prop 1 losses. This is about investing in community-centered solutions for health, connection, and safety for all.

Here’s how YOU can make a difference:
Submit a Written Comment (Highly Recommended!): Share your detailed message by 3:00 PM on Monday, July 21st.
Make a Live Public Comment (Via Zoom or In-Person): Speak directly to the Supervisors on Tuesday, July 22nd, at 3:00 PM.
Details on how to join via Zoom will be released Monday with the agenda.

This is our chance to stand up for the compassionate, community-led mental health services that truly make a difference. Your collective efforts show the power of our community!

Thank you for your support!
